| Please check "seeking roommates" for those needing a traveling partner. Thanks to all who attended the four meetings in June. The Elvis festival in Penticton was a pleasant surprise. I enjoy his music but have never been a special fan. Friday night in the park was a concert with many Elvis's. Saturday evening show was spectacular,, Sunday's gospel morning was wonderful and the final competition on Sunday produce some wonderful talent. Next year will be the 10 anniversary and they have some excellent "Elvis's" already signed up. Tickets are selling fast already. for 2010 Suggested trips for 2011 These are in the planning stages. If you have any trips you would like to recommend please advise me ASAP as I would like to have the calendar ready by the end of AUGUST. South Africa & Safari The club has been featured across the country appearing in the Toronto, Windsor, Saskatchewan and Edmonton newspapers. Locally we have had write-ups in the Abbotsford Times, Tri-city News, Vancouver Sun, Richmond News, Tri-cities Now, Georgia Straight, Kelowna and Victoria. I was also invited as a guest on Shaw Express, Channel 13 Breakfast Show. I attended a meeting of the Abbotsford/Mission/Aldergrove singles club and the Abbotsford Learning + giving presentations at both. If any of you have any contacts for further exposure for the club please let me know. The more members the more friends we can make and the more trips we can offer. Volunteers are needed for a phoning committee and to welcome guests at our meeting. If you can spare one hour a month it would be greatly appreciated. The yearly membership fees are due in January and will be $30.00 + gst $1.50 for a total of $31.50. If anyone has a short article for the newsletter please let me know.
